also, one note, the dark colors are not true to the pictures (as you can see in my image), but I like them nonetheless. (Also, yes, cat hair does stick to them, but that's part of the lifestyle, I suppose)
Slowly adding weights over time was beneficial for me, and much less bulky than multiple sets.
Nice feel. From what I've seen so far, I expect them to last.
Will update this if needed.
My physical therapist wanted me to have a variety of lighter weights and these fill that bill, going from 2 to 5 pounds. The weight adjustment is really easy. I am really happy with this product.
Like I said, the overall size is quite large, so be aware of that! But they are well made, and the grip is good. The sort of soft finish is good too, so you don't bash things if you aren't careful with the weights.
Overall I took off one star because of the overall size. I would definitely purchase again though!
Me encanto muy cómodas excelente inversión..
I received a note with my order asking me to leave a review, but there was no bribe to get me to do so. I REALLY appreciate that. So many companies these days are artificially inflating their reviews so they can increase their review count and become a 'best seller'. So if you're reading this, please know that this feedback is genuine! The weights really are great.
The fact that these weights can be removed to reduce size is a plus. Just unscrew the ends, take out a weight and re-screw. The ends tighten securely and there is no internal movement. The material is easy to clean and has no odor like some other weights after use.
They are durable and made of good quality materials. For me
that's all I need and I happy with my purchase.
clean and simple design with blue color is great.
I cant wait to workout with this.
bought 4.5 lbs each dumell set.
good price and fast shipping.
I've used them in several workout sessions now, and I'm still really happy with my purchase. They are very comfortable to hold, and changing up the weight isn't too bad. I still wouldn't try to alternate weight amounts because that would double your workout time. But if you switch them out between series of circuits, it won't take too long.
More details below -- specifically about the exact weight of the configurations.
---- original review ---
A great way to add more weights (I was looking for 6lb, 7lb, 8lb, 10lb) without spending a fortune.
I haven't worked out with these yet, but will update when I do. When I strength-train, I use circuits of 2-3 different exercises, 3 times each. These wouldn't be convenient to swap weights within the same circuit, but they seem OK to swap when I'm changing circuits, if needed.
The set comes with 2 hand weights, each consisting of the empty hand weight, 2 large blocks, and 16 small blocks. You typically add the weight blocks in pairs -- one on each end so that it's balanced, but I tested it and you can use an odd number of small weights without causing any problems. And you can include or exclude the large blocks. - but always use these in pairs.
The weights as listed in the instructions are not correct. I knew the docs weren't accurate when it said that you add 6 small blocks to go from 6.6 lbs to 8.8 lbs but then you add 4 more small blocks to go from 8.8 lbs to 11 lbs (also an increase of 2.2 lbs)
Here's the real deal - yes, I'm pedantic, so I actually weighed all the parts. These are averages - each small block's weight is slightly different (by a tenth of an ounce here and there):
The empty hand weight is 2.37 lbs
2 large blocks weigh 2.45 lbs
2 small blocks weigh 0.775-0.788 lbs
Hand weight plus 2 large: 4.82 (vs 4.4 lbs that they claim)
Add 2 small: 5.60
Add 2 more small: 6.38
Add 2 more small: 7.16 (vs 6.6)
Add 2 more small: 7.94
Add 2 more small: 8.73
Add 2 more small: 9.51 (vs 8.8)
Add 2 more small: 10.29
Add final 2 small: 11.07 (vs 11.0)
I wish the documentation was more correct in this part, but as long as you know what the actual weight is, you can work accordingly.
great for my rehab as I need to adjust for separate weights on each arm
Dislike- A little bit of a nuisance if you want to switch weight amounts during the same workout. Have to unscrew both side of each and add or take away.
