[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”HOW TO STAND UP ON A SUP”]Always start in calm, flat water with a nice wide board. We recommend using a 30-inch board that is about 11 feet long for all SUP beginners.
The board should feel comfortable and not unstable when standing up. If it still feels too unstable after several attempts to gain your balance, try a larger, wider paddle board.
FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO STAND UP ON A SUP:
- Get the board out into in water so the fin is free from hitting the bottom
- Start in a kneeling position – on your knees take a few strokes on each side of the board
- Slowly, stand up with one foot at a time and stay in the middle of the board with your feet parallel to the stringer – about shoulder width apart
- Keep a slight bend in the knees and your core centered over the board
- Keep in mind you may fall off, when you do, hop back up and try again. If you get cold easily, we recommend wearing a thin wetsuit.
SUP Beginner Tip: Similar to the common beginner surfboard mistake, many people start out on a board much too small, and can never seem to gain balance and become disheartened. I have not put it in the water yet. But so far I am super happy with my purchase. I will be sure to update as soon as the weather is warmer. Update: This board is amazing. I have been on other boards that are not a stable. I put it in the lake yesterday and was on it for 3 hours straight! I was catching fish on it. I weigh about 140 and I put my 85lb. kid on the front of it and I could not tell a difference in how it handled. I am so happy with this purchase! Great price with great quality. You can't go wrong with this board! I bought an electric car pump for this and it made it so much easier...the hand pump that came with it is good too though. I cant wait to get back on it! Thanks to Bote for making a great affordable board! SUP for life!

I needed a board I could hike to the river by myself, this does the trick! Tested it out on the Columbia-- it held up to the current and jet ski wake, easy to control. Good size and balance for a petite adult + 25lb doggo with room for a small cooler too. Could have easily handled more weight. It does not feel exactly like a traditional rigid board, but it still has very good stability, tracks well even against the current, and decent speed. Happy with the quality and design. Surprisingly, no visible damage from dog nails after 3 hours use! Love that it comes with all the accessories, but the pressure gauge on the pump was broken on arrival, as other reviewers said. It takes about 5 minutes to inflate (though I had to guess when it was full). Easy to roll up and pack everything in the huge backpack, with room for life jackets etc too. A great buy overall! Wish I got one sooner!

This board has held up incredibly well to frequent use! I have taken it out rivers (Columbia, Umpqua, Lewis) at least 20 times since I got it and have had ZERO problems. I discovered it is sturdy enough to support TWO adults (one sitting) with TWO small dogs. It's super stable, I have not fallen off it yet, even in big wake. I never go paddling without my dog and I am especially impressed with how well this board had held up to doggy nails-- no visible signs of damage! Honestly I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

I would give it 6 stars if I could. I bought this for my wife for Mothers Day and she LOVED IT! It is build tough and aired to 15 psi it is very rigid and you would not know its an inflatable. I'm glad I spent more money and purchased this one over some of the others. It is wider and longer and it is super stable, even with me on it. I'm 6'3" and 240lbs.
It does take a little time to air this up and others are right, it is part of the workout, but i hooked it up to me Dewalt cordless inflator and works like a champ.
